Hi All!
Én egy megtörtént és remélhetőleg lezárult esetet kívánok itt leírni a nagyérdemű okulása valamint a még meglévő hajhagymák védelme végett
Alany: Maxtor 120Gb 7200rpm Hdd.
Pontosabban: Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 6y120l0
Felállás:
a) Az ikszpé dob egy kéket: system has been shut down in order prevent further system damage. [vmi hasonló,nem emléxem pontosabban] Hajhullás, jajveszékelés, ideglelés.
b) valahogy a vinyóra tertelődik a gyanú, mivel a chkdsk elkezd badsectort jelezni. A vinyó soha nem ütődött v semmi ilyesmi, ami erre jogosítaná föl.
Cselekedetek:
Elmegek a maxtor oldalára, ráakadok a powermaxra, meg az RMA-ra (gyártói cseregarancia!).
RMA: eléggé ígéretes, csak a [valószínúleg, IMHO!] postaköltség meg a csomagolás összege nem sokkal kevesebb, mint egy kiskategóriás (jelen esetben120as) vinyó ára.
A Maxtor által vállalt garancia online lekérdezhető. az egység sorozatszáma alpján! ez a standard egy év után is él - a gyártó vállalja! Bővebben: link
Ezekután klaviatúrát ragadtam és írtam a supportnak, aki(k) 1 munkanapon belül válaszoltak is!!!
A válaszban azt közölték, h az általam tapasztalt hiba (lásd bővebben a csatol t emilt!) nem felületi hiba, hanem valami ''access error'', és a powermax lolevel formatjával általában orvosolható.
És úgy is lett
Miután lolevel format(cca 10óra) és ellenörzés telljes felület tesz 12x futtatva (cca 16 óra

Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your RMA request. If you have received an error code ending in S57 or S20 from the PowerMax utility you may be able to resolve the problem without needing to replace the hard drive.
If you have received an error code which ends in S57 or S20 it ususally indicates an access problem. In many cases this can be fixed by running the write disk pack (low level format) in PowerMax.
Please note that ALL data will be erased when performing a write test (low-level format equivalent) on the drive. Don't forget to back up all important data beforehand. Please remove any other hard drives you might have in your system which you don't want to test and overwrite. Install the Maxtor drive as a single drive in the system and only add the other drive(s) when you are finished testing the Maxtor drive.
Note: Do not run PowerMax from within a GUI environment (ie from a Windows desktop window), as this can make the test results inaccurate. Please remove any other hard drives you might have in your system which you don't want to test and overwrite.
Should the low level format also give out an error code, the drive will have to be replaced. In this case please make sure to tell us the original error code which you received and also the new error code.

Due to the problems that you have incurred, the option to replace the drive (RMA) is being offered provided the drive is in warranty.

Dear Support,
I own a Maxtor DiamondMax plus 9 120Gb hard drive (ID:6y120l0 SN:xxxxxxxx). Recently the drive has started failing badly (badblocks) --- I run the diagnostic tool powermax (from your site) and it sais:
''Diagnostic code: de9b6000
This Drive is failing....''.
The drive is in my computer case screwed tightly since I purchased it, it was never moved, never impacted or anything.
According to your site it still has warranty.
I would like to ask what are the coditons and odds, to get a replacement drive through RMA in that case? I would rather not send a package to abroad needlessly. (my local retail dealer refuses the replacement).
