Le van írva minden, hogy mire való. Nem a setup.exe-vel kell indítani.
"5.1.2. Booting from Windows
To start the installer from Windows, you can eitherobtain CD-ROM/DVD-ROM or USB memory stick installation media as described in Section 4.1, “Official Debian GNU/Linux CD/DVD-ROM Sets” respective Section 4.3, “Preparing Files for USB Memory Stick Booting” or
download a standalone Windows executable, which is available as tools/win32-loader/stable/win32-loader.exe on the Debian mirrors,
If you use an installation CD or DVD, a pre-installation program should be launched automatically when you insert the disc. In case Windows does not start it automatically, or if you are using a USB memory stick, you can run it manually by accessing the device and executing setup.exe.
After the program has been started, a few preliminary questions will be asked and the system will be prepared to reboot into the Debian GNU/Linux installer."

Jól írták, csak azoknak eszébe nem jutott Windows alól elindítani a setup.exe-t. Bár igaz ami igaz, a hivatalos dokumentáció is említést tesz erről a lehetőségről. Akik már kicsit is rutinosabb telepítő, (vagy nem működött nála a setup.exe), az a telepítő médiáról indítja a gépet. A leírások 99%-ban is úgy kezdődik a mese, hogy kiírod a telepítő médiát, és arról indítod a gépet. [link]

Ez a setup.exe számomra is rejtély. Még soha nem mertem elindítani. Állítólag egy Windows alatt futó telepítő [link] . Bár a korát elnézve lehet a W10-el nincs már barátságban.
Viszont ha valóban ennyire kifutott dolog, miért nem veszik ki a telepítőből? Hisz itt az élő példa, hogy mennyire rossz irányba viszi azokat akik kipróbálnák. -

Normál esetben operációs rendszereket úgy lehet egymás mellé telepíteni, hogy a telepítőről boot-olsz. Ezt a Microsoft valamikor a Windows 7-es (talán már XP) körül megkerülte Windows-okra, de csak azokra. Minden más esetben a hagyományos utat kell követni. Erről elég sok részletes leírás van a neten. Viszont javasolnám, hogy mindenekelőtt alaposan olvass utána a dolgoknak, mert többen jártak már úgy, hogy figyelmetlenségből Windows-t vagy fontos partíciót formáztak le. Másrészt a rendszerindítód is meg fog változni és ha úgy döntesz, hogy törlöd a Linuxot, valószínűleg újra kell majd tenni a Windows saját rendszerindítóját (csak a rendszerindítót, nem az operációs rendszert).
