"I have used my D7000 in pouring rain and hail with winds up to 100+ mph. I know that sounds rediculas but it's true. There was a tornado outbreak several weeks ago and I couldn't pass up the chance to document the event. The camera was all but submerged in water and it still performed at it's best. My main concern was what may happen days or even weeks later when the camera had time for mold or mildew to form. That was August 27 and there are no signs of either. That being said I believe the D7000 has a very tuff and rugged build. When most people think about weather proof they mainly think of rain but dust, salt spray, sand, moisture, and humidity can kill a camera. I have put mine through hell and back and after 8000+ shots it still functions like the day I bought it.
There's a post I started titled: D7000 weather seals tested during tornado"

Ha ez neked Baumgartner... Lelked rajta.
