Introduction
I would have never thought to get another Sony Ericsson, after T303, which shows more of itself than it effectively has. It looks like Sony Ericsson has started to use quality materials in the low-end and thus launching good-looking, but still cheap handsets, which is no problem; we just shouldn’t expect much of them.
I have already mentioned at T303 that they are not alone with this. The manufacturers have started to realize that even cheap handsets could have a proper design; they don’t have to show that they have very few features; a low-end handset can have a normal case too.
T280 arrived from GSM Takács, and we had the courage to ask for it, because the handset has recently appeared at network operators too, so there are other phones to compare it to. The phone had a prepay price under €40 EUR until recently, but we had a Vodafone version, which costs exactly the double – this is not such a competitive price, although the magenta network also asks €75 EUR for it, while K800i costs €90 EUR.
It’s still highly worth it for €40, the red operator offer Z310i from the same manufacturer at a similar price… and they’re almost the same thing.
