I suppose none of our readers expect anything revolutionary of the menu system. Yes, this is just another cheap Sony Ericsson. The menu has nine icons, it can be recolored with themes, the system has a logical structure, although our fingers have to move a bit more to get around the menu than usual, as there is no OK key in center of the navigation button, so we always have to press the left hotkey.
The address book can store only 300 entries this time. I think it’s evident that why does the contact list have the least amount of space, a contact takes only a couple of bytes, so I don’t know why couldn’t they provide a capacity of at least 500 names. Someone, somewhere, at an early stage of development said that there should be 300 contacts, and so it happened. At least we are not forced to move the SIM contacts to the internal memory, because we see the information mixed when looking at the phonebook, but it’s a serious flaw, that the situation is not the same at messaging, besides being able to select the most recent contacts, we have to decide whether we want to browse the SIM or the phone contacts.
Typing messages is no big challenge, there is only SMS and MMS, the latter has a size limit of 300 KB, but we can’t attach or open video content. During typing we’re not faster than the rather slow software, only because our speedy fingers cannot work at full capacity on the quite hard keys.
There aren’t many organizer functions, the calendar has month view and we can store only one type of entry, which can have a title and a time. There is no repeating alarm. The alarm clock is also a basic one, we can store only one time point, but this can repeat. After storing this, the software asks whether we want to wake up to the radio, or we’d rather listen to some sound effect. When choosing the second option we cannot select from messaging sounds, this can be accessed separately under settings. Besides the calculator we can find a countdown timer and a stopwatch with lap timing, and unfortunately there is no code memory in this phone either.
