Basic functions
One thousand names and seven times more data fit in the phonebook in total. We have the usual system that would really like to copy all entries from the SIM card to the internal memory, but if we modify them later on, or add a new contact then we can sync these back to the SIM. A contact can have tons of additional information entered on a tabbed interface. I won’t go into details; these are the same as on any other Sony Ericsson model.
We won’t be surprised by messaging either. SMS, MMS and email are the list, we have a 300KB size limit for multimedia messages and theoretically 65 megabytes for electronic mail that can receive mail from many accounts and authenticated SMTP servers are supported for sending. Text entry is easy with these buttons, we can insert smileys into an SMS with two clicks, T9 is here to help us type faster.
The calendar is also the usual, month and week views are graphical, the day view is more like a list. The weekends are colored differently to make us observe if we have somehow planned the quarterly financial report meeting for then. The alarm clock can store many time points that can repeat. Amongst other functions we find a calculator, a stopwatch, a countdown timer and a code memory, nothing extra, this is just another Sony Ericsson. You’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all – at least for organizer functions.
