Internal changes
Although we have already talked about the display’s changes and we know that both models are capable of displaying 16.8 million colors, its worth to take a look if there are still some differences between them, so here is a photo which illustrates that the newer model has a bit brighter display and the colors are much “truer”. (On the left the old model, on the right the 8GB.) Furthermore the display of the new phone is much more scratch-resistant.
Both N95s have Symbian 9.2 with Feature Pack 1. The processor is also the same (332 Mhz ARM), but the amount of RAM has increased from 64MB to 128MB, so I have eagerly awaited the test results. Both phones were in Offline mode, and no other program was running in the background. At first the results of SPMark surprised me, because:

From the above is clear, for reasons yet unknown, that the older N95 had somewhat better results in all categories. Maybe the larger internal capacity or maybe the larger screen (the difference is 0.2 inches) slows the new model down, I don’t know, but it is a fact however that the differences are minor. In the course of regular daily usage these differences cannot be observed, the menu, the booting process and the loading of applications takes the same amount of time.
