Basic functions
The phone has the good old Series 40 platform as an operating system. Nothing is new, but let’s take a look at the basics in a nutshell. We can choose a list or icon view for the main menu; we can use themes to customize the design. By default there are a couple of themes included, that usually match the phone’s colors. We can turn on active standby, which puts the most used features on the main screen and we can also assign any feature to the function keys,
The phonebook can store 1000 names with lots of additional infos. Messaging is full and complete, as usual of the manufacturer. We have SMS, even in form of flash messaging (that instantly appears on the addressee’s screen), MMS and an e-mail client too. This latter one supports POP3 and IMAP too and even attachments.
The organizer features include an alarm clock where we can set the alarms to repeat, snooze time and we can choose an alarm sound, which might even be the radio. Another organizer feature is the calendar that can have month, week or day view, there is a to-do list, notes, calculator, countdown timer and a stopwatch.
