Introduction
The first model with a “life belt” has appeared at the fall of 2006 in the product list of the manufacturer, and then there were two of these launched at the same time, 5200 and 5300. With these phones the leisure style that has been characteristic of the 5 series has been taken over by these youthful handsets, in a couple of cases with XpressMusic devices that are counterparts of Sony Ericsson Walkman models.
The subject of our current review, Nokia 5000, has been launched with the “Create, Share and Excite!” slogan, so the marketing is evidently based on the phone’s camera. This might sound a bit strange, considering the 1.3 megapixel camera that has no autofocus, but it becomes a more acceptable statement when we look at the price tag. We’ll see what does this Nokia has to offer besides the camera in the €110-€130 EUR price range.
The handset came in a small box, characteristic of this category. The package includes only the most common accessories besides the phone: battery, charger, headset and user manual.
