The Finnish manufacturer has extended their Nokia Ovi service with a new feature, that provides fast and simple file sending between phones and Windows XP or Windows Vista PCs. The PC client software makes remote picture and video browsing by automatically generating thumbnail previews accustomed to the phone's display. Synchronizing music between two remote devices is also very simple. Of course any kind of file can be transfered, but that's not all, as Ovi provides 10 or 30 GB of storage space, so folders stored on a computer are accessible even if that's not turned on. For this it's enough to share the given folder, that is to sync it with the safe distant storage. The beta version of Nokia Files can be tried for free for 60 days. The technical background of the service is provided by Avvenu that has been recently acquired by Nokia. Avvenu has been previously the provides for Motorola's similar SHARE service.
