According to the official response to the question of MobileCrunch, the first South-Korean Series 60 Touch handset won't be called Omnia HD, just simply i8910, as the manufacturer wants to reserve the Omnia brand exclusively for Windows Mobile handsets. This step seems to be logical, as a new "HD" handset could be confusing for Omnia owners, as not only the hardware, but the operating system has changed as well. Samsung i8910 is currently the most feature-filled Symbian handset and the first mobile phone on the market to have not only an 8 megapixel camera, but it can also record videos at 1280 x 720 pixels at a speed of 24 frames per second. Besides these the new handset features 7.2 megabit HSDPA, 5.76 megabit HSUPA up- and download speeds, WLAN, GPS, stereo Bluetooth, a 3.7", 640 x 360 pixels large AM-OLED touchscreen display, an RDS FM radio, stereo speakers, digital compass, gyroscope, light and distance sensors, DivX and XviD support, a widget-based TouchWiz interface, 8/16 GB of internal memory (expandable up to 32 GB via a microSDHC card) and a 1.500 mAh battery. The launch date and price of the 123 x 58 x 12.9 mm large handset are not yet known.
