The world's first mobile phone that can record HD videos has been made by Samsung. Omnia HD, based on Symbian Series 60 Touch, can record videos at a resolution of up to 1,280 x 720 pixels, this being played back on a TV set in its full splendour, thanks to the HDMI out on the handset. Hitachi Hi-Vision Cam Wooo, pictured below, is just the second in line, but its first to have a design that resembles a really compact DV camera. The handset, featuring a 5 megapixel image sensor, is 116 x 50 x 19.9 mm large, weighs 150 grams and it is available only at KDDI in Japan at an unknown price.
