Display, handling

Opening the phone, the essence of it unfolds before us. On top, the 2.2” display is placed, surrounded by a mirror-like, shiny, silvery frame. A bit larger might have been used, but otherwise it’s all right, it has very good picture quality. There is no secondary camera, so we won’t be using the fast data connections for video calls.

The lower part has the flat keypad, which is typical for razor phones by the way. The dark grey buttons, made of brushed metal, are separated by red lines. When the keypad’s backlight turns on, these lines look more like pink (this might be the reason why ladies liked it so much), while button labels are white. In case of the color combination named Graphite Blue, the cover’s colors get exchanged, meaning that the exterior part and the frame around the display are dark grey, while the keypad is silvery and has a blue backlight.

Button size is convenient; they are a bit soft, but can be used easily, I had no problems writing a longer message. The same is not true about the cursor keys. These are unfortunately a victim of the design. The directional keys are slim, I had a really hard time trying to press them, even after a few days of use I had to pay attention when using them, and the central button’s pressure point is not really good. As it is characteristic for Sony Ericsson devices with a similar layout, the power button (which is also used for changing profiles) is in the lower right corner, near this, in the center, there is the microphone which takes up a large amount of space.
