We have everything besides WLAN. The device supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA data transfer and we have a landscape HTML browser to use. There is no lack of YouTube support and an RSS reader, and if I take a look at these two sentences I can see at least seven acronyms. At local level we have Bluetooth 2.0 and USB at the same version.
The 930 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery under the hood kept the phone online for 2-3 days, if we don’t play around too much with it, we might increase this with an additional day.
On the whole I have to say that finally I had a Walkman handset that gave me the exact thing that has been predestined with W800i. High-quality materials, manly design, a nice set of features. Finally we have AF for the camera again, finally they don’t want to sell us die-cast plastic toys, so they ask a nice little sum. I think this is too much, it would be more realistic at around 210-230 euros, but this will take about two months.
It’s a good question if Sony Ericsson can keep up this work, or if the metal case and autofocus will be used only in the most expensive Walkman. Now the greatest task would be to provide the same quality feeling in a bit cheaper Walkman phones as well. Yeah, one phone won’t change everything, but if this is only the first of a series, than the story might turn out to be a good one.
