The first Windows Mobile handset from the Japanese-Swedish manufacturer, Xperia X1, has been barely launched and pictures of the possible successor have already appeared. The vertical slider Sony Ericsson Xperia "successor" you can see below is in fact just a concept. It has been, however, confirmed by several sources and the manufacturer itself that X1 is only the beginning and in the future a number of similar models might get launched, which will not necessarily be based on Windows Mobile. Sony Ericsson UIQ developments have been halted, the unified Symbian is expected only by 2010 and Android didn't yet convince the manufacturer, as it has too many services from Google. There are no exact details about the successor of Xperia, but it seems sure that the manufacturer is developing another touchscreen phone under the codename "Hikaru", but there is only a concept picture available about it, but it will probably be a Walkman or Cyber-Shot phone and not an Xperia.
