Display, menu
I think no one will cry about the display, the usual Samsung quality can observed here too; the 240x320 pixel resolution screen has a physical size of 36x43 mm, and is capable of displaying 16.8 million shades of color. The picture is just beautiful, it has contrast, it is bright; the view is simply brilliant until it's compared with a K850i, which makes it look like nothing. The solution is not comparing them.
Because of the menu, however, the phone has been told off beforehand and we will show some negative aspects too, because of two reasons. On one hand, the new system which appeared on the G600 with its great customizability and new ideas didn’t make it to the elder brother. It’s reason is unknown for me, so we have to be satisfied with the latest version of BlackUI, which, furthermore, cannot be set to white color. Not even backgrounds can be set in this system, so our graphical possibilities are very limited, we have to like this grey over white thing, as there is nothing else. On the other hand, the software is relatively slow too, which wouldn’t be observable if we wouldn’t be already used to the completely opposite, but this way it’s quite annoying, although it does not influence the phone’s use. It’s really nothing horrible, the icons get drawn a bit slower if we start jumping between them, everything happens a tenth of a second later than it should; well… that’s what we have. Again.
But let’s talk about the positive aspects too. The wallpaper changing according to the country is still a hit; although being an old feature, we still smile when seeing the Houses of the Parliament by day/night, the birds/shooting stars or the stunt airplane and the fireworks. The G800 also has the feature of putting more and more clouds on the background sky as the signal strength is getting weaker, which is an adorable feature I think. I don’t if it has been this way before, but the main screen’s messages have a huge size, especially in the case of an incoming message or call; this gets another plus point.
