We won’t really make much use of it, as besides Google Maps (which cannot be used for car navigation) and Footprints, there are no other apps that would use it – of course the situation will change as soon as the iGO navigation software’s Android version is ready…

The battery has a capacity of 1350 mAh and it can be replaced. I had the handset for only three days, I didn’t manage to make the battery go dead in two days, although I played around a lot with it and listened to lots of music via stereo Bluetooth headset. I can’t really come to any conclusion, based on this experience, but it’s sure that it can take it for two days even if it’s used a lot, and I tend to think that with average use it can clearly take it for three days or more.

550 euros. Currently that’s the average price for the handset with 2 years warranty, and I think it’s currently the best buy for those who are thinking about buying a smartphone with touchscreen and have no special needs that can be satisfied by only a single operating system. HTC Hero is not perfect, it’s far from that: it has a lame camera, it has no FM radio, it could look better, it could be assembled better and I could use some additional software as well. But it’s incredibly fast, it’s very user-friendly, there are already tons of software for it… it’s an Android. It’s really hard to imagine the whole thing if you have never used such a system (or an iPhone) before. I have already tried every possible OS and I can say that only Apple and Google managed to do such a thing that I never had to scream, that never hung up, that was easy to expand, that was logically designed and was fast enough… on the whole they were the only ones to create a really decent system. Compared to this the also great LG S-Class UI is nothing, although that costs half the price. So what is HTC Hero in fact? An iPhone which is not overhyped and won’t force things on the customer and it’s filled with small treats that I can’t remember right now, but I always smile at them. I loved to use this handset. And it’s highly recommended.
