There has been no progress made in terms of data communication since X500. There is still no trace of 3G, the fastest available mode is EDGE, and in case of no coverage we can use GPRS instead. Fortunately there is WiFi-support, compatible with 802.11b/g standards. Bluetooth has a version number of 2.0, while USB is unfortunately only 1.1 and there is no infra port.
During phone calls I only had the usual “E-TEN error”, namely that after the accepting an incoming call, voice transfer has started only after 1-2 seconds, until then no matter what I said, the other party could not hear it. Sound quality, however, was all right, but this flaw is really disturbing, it would be time to get over it.
Outlook can store a practically infinite number of contacts and there is no shortage of extra fields. Messages are also handled by this software, which supports authenticated IMAP servers and multimedia messages too. There are two kinds of speed dials, one being accessible from the Today screen, while the other through the press of a button. Other applications are also old friends: call filter, MMS editor, profile manager and a ringtone manager are all included in the Phone folder.
