Camera-buddy and musicality
The 2 Mpix, fix-focus camera in the phone is simply worthless. And I do not specifically think – or not only – of quality, but of the whole thing. As a first issue there is a horrible sound for exposition that cannot be turned off. Second: it takes such a long time to take a picture, that even after the ear-splitting sound we have to keep the phone steady for another 2-3 seconds if we don’t want a blurry picture. Third: the software is simply stupid, it has very few settings and it just looks horrible. The highest available resolution for photos is 1600 x 1200 pixels and 320 x 240 for videos. It’s possibly a software error that I had no picture, only sound, when playing back movies on my PC, although I have been using the latest version of QuickTime for playing the 3GP files. There were problems with picture taking too, the device sometimes made photos similar of the one on the first picture, although I didn’t change any setting.

The E-TEN is not much better on musical part either. Our tracks are played back by Windows Media Player, which doesn’t have either an equalizer, or a bass boost feature and it can only filter tracks by artist, genre and album. Although there is a Multimedia Manager inside the Multimedia menu, but this is a simple file manager that displays preset multimedia content. It only displays the first seven characters from file names and this makes it completely unusable.
There is an FM radio, but it can be used only with a headset. Although there is one inside the package, but its quality can be described as “mediocre” (and that might be too gentle), so it’s advised to change it to something better. Of course there is a picture viewer, but it’s recommended to install TCPMP for video playback, as Media Player has a poor performance here too. DivX/XviD files optimized for desktop PC-s are quite choppy, so it’s advised to try something of a lower quality.
