Cheap WLAN internet on Delta airplanes

The United States didn't allow the use of cell phone voice calls on the board of airplanes, but they had no objections against text messaging and internet access. Delta has recently announced that on 330 of their flights there will be cheap WLAN access, provided by Aircell, even though it currently will be available only in US airspace. The service, that is expected to be lauched at about mid-2009, passengers will be allowed to use the WLAN network for 3 hours for $9.95 USD, while if they pay a fee of $12.95 USD, they will be allowed to have Internet access during the whole flight. It is not yet known whether there are European airlines planning to introduce a similar WLAN service, but if they could provide one at a similar price, then the service wouldn't be open only for business customers.
