Data transfer, battery
The data communication arsenal is practically complete. Besides GPRS, EDGE, 3G and HSDPA the phone even supports HSUPA, not many handsets have all these protocols. Additionally the phone has a WiFi radio as well, so we have a more cost-effective way of browsing the web. Aside from these the handset supports DLNA, so it can communicate with devices that comply with these standards. The browser is good, it’s far from MiniMap, but it’s easy to use. Of course those who don’t like it can choose Opera Mini, we’re not forced to use the default one. The handset has a dedicated YouTube application, when tilting the phone we can automatically view our favorite videos in fullscreen, thanks to the gyroscope.
At local level we have stereo Bluetooth 2.0, or we can use the USB cable from the box. The battery has a capacity of 950 mAh, uses Li-Pol technology and provides an average uptime of 2-3 days.
Summary. W705 is not much different than its brother, G705. The materials used have been somewhat improved, unfortunately the assembly quality is the same, while the lack of autofocus is a serious flaw. On the other hand we have the perfect data communication arsenal, the good calendar, the contact list and the high-quality music playback. Taking all these into consideration, W705 is worthy of this award:
