Data transfer, battery, summary
The GSM module is quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), there is no 3G, so the fastest data transfer protocol is EDGE. There is Bluetooth, however, version 2.0. I can’t say that sound quality has been good, I’ve sometimes heard strange noises and some echoing (no, not in my head), which is sad as after T700 I had another SE phone that performed under average in this matter. I can only hope that this won’t become a tendency.
The battery is a 930 mAh one, it can be changed. It can keep the handset online for three days, if we don’t use it too much and don’t listen to music.
Summary: for who, when and why? I don’t know, but I do know the price: about €125 EUR. This will probably drop soon, and if it will stop at about €75 EUR in a couple of months – or below that -, than I will say that this is an entry-level phone with a good price/value ratio, for those who like a nice design and shiny surfaces. Now, however, I can’t say this. Besides this S302 is finely assembled, it looks good, handles the basic functions almost correctly and it has only minor flaws (if we overlook - or overhear - the mediocre sound quality). I think you understand why it doesn’t get an award.
