Data transfer, battery
Data transfer on the mobile network is available only via GPRS, so the 2.0 WAP browser is more than enough to make use of it, there wouldn’t be much sense to displaying HTML pages on such a low-resolution display. There is, however, Bluetooth, of course it’s not stereo as that’s completely unnecessary in such a phone, but it can be used with car handsfree kits, or to transfer images and sounds to computers or another phone.
We get two games, JC Does Texas is getting a bit boring, while Mahjong doesn’t have to be introduced I think. The battery kept the phone on for only three days, even when not used too much, so it’s not that great, we could say it’s average but I would have expected more from a clamshell.
Summary. Its current price is too much. For €115 EUR I could say lots of phone that have much more features. Of course it will drop, but I’m not sure if it has any sense to create a whole phone series based on the radio, when this feature is already available in tons of cheap phones, it’s just not that overhyped.
R306 is a phone with a unique design, but it’s too dumb for this price. If a manufacturer wants to create a radio handset they should have at least implemented radio functionality without a headset, I have right now a Chinese piece of crap in front of me that supports this, so it is possible. The price should be about half, so we could say that it’s worth thinking about it.
