Samsung J750 - the editor's dream

Multimedia stuff

The camera appears only when we slide off the phone. The number of effective pixels is 1.3 million (for those who don’t understand: it’s a 1.3 megapixel one), the focus is fixed. Largest available resolutions are 1280 x 1024 for photos and 176 x 144 pixels for videos. The number of options is quite plentiful, we can change the white balance, the light metering method (matrix or spot), and the amount of jpeg-compression and there are different effects, frames and delayed timer. Of course these don’t improve picture quality, let the pictures do the talk.

The music player has only very basic features, it doesn’t run in the background, it doesn’t have an equalizer or a bass booster, it doesn’t show album covers and seeking is limited to blocks of a few seconds. The volume can be set in 14 steps; sound quality is pretty good when using the speaker (at least in this category), and medium through a headset.

To top the enlisted deficiencies it’s interesting that the software displayed the information in the ID3 tags incorrectly at some tracks, there were only blank squares instead of the artist and the track title. A “positive” side of this bug is that it doesn’t affect functionality, as the player cannot filter tracks by artist, genre, etc.
