The phonebook can store 1000 contacts; a contact can have the following additional data assigned to it: first name, last name, mobile/home/office/fax/other number, email address, picture, ringtone, birthday and comment. I dare to presume that this will fit the needs of the target users. The list of options includes the possibility of moving or deleting all contacts at once.
There are no surprises in message handling either. A maximum number of 200 SMS messages can be stored; the number of MMSs and emails is limited by the size of the internal memory. Text entry is assisted by T9, email settings are concluded in a wizard, in a relatively professional way. The small client includes filtering, authenticated SMTP server support. I could not find any size limit, meaning that the software tried sending an email with two MP3 files attached with a total size of 5 MB. Of course I did not wait the end of the transfer; I would have liked to make calls that day…
The calendar has been moved to the application menu. The bottom row of month view always shows the number and type of entries on a given day, this provides great transparency. Week view looks fairly nice even on this low-res display, while day view is list-like. We can choose from four types of reminders: meeting, anniversary, other and task. The alarm clock handles five time points, knows repetition and snooze time can be maximum 10 minutes, so the Koreans won’t allow 1 hour long naps like Nokia. Other features include world clock (we have the nice purple map again), stopwatch, countdown timer and unit converter.
