There will be no PlayStation phone

Hirdetés

According to mobiletoday.co.uk Sony won't allow its subsidiary company to use the PlayStation brand name to develop mobile phones. Sony's and Ericsson's company is already using Sony brand names, like "Walkman", "Cyber-shot" or "Bravia", although this latter one is currently used in Japan only, where the Japanese-Swedish manufacturer can somehow use microSD cards. The denial of the much-rumored PSP phone Sony created a rather strange situation on the market, as they are practically helping their rivals. The greatest winner of this decision is Nokia, as the PlayStation name sounds much better than N-Gage, so much game-hungry users could have been lured from them. Sony, having a seriously hard time, and the loss-making Sony Ericsson are not known what path will they choose for gaming mobile, but the patching of F305, launched in the lower price category, doesn't seem a long-term alternative.
