Sony Ericsson has recently reported about its losses for 2008, which have been explained by the financial situation, while Sony and Ericsson have been blaming their subsidiary. The situation of the Japanese-Swedish manufacturer is not easy at all, but the reason for the increasing losses is not only the global financial situation, but strategical errors as well. According to analysts the models that once had great design and specs are now today just standard ones, but in addition the manufacturer clings to the more expensive M2 cards, while the whole market is uniformly devoted to microSD. Another mistake of the same kind is the forced omission of a 3.5 mm jack output and the increasingly popular standard USB connector. Sony Ericsson W395 (codenamed "Yao") is another Walkman slider, which is expected to have a low price, at least the 176 x 220 pixel display resolution and the 2 megapixel camera with fix focus won't allow a different pricing, since Nokia, Samsung, LG and Motorol all have musical phones under 100 euros, sometimes even with a higher resolution. Sony Ericsson W395 will be announced at Mobile World Congress, along with a number of other exciting new stuff.
