Sony plans to launch the PlayStation phone under their own name, which highly questions their partnership agreement with Ericsson. It has been sure since a while that Sony PSP (Playstation Portable) will the base of the first PSP phone, which is expected to get in stores by the Christmas of 2009, but not many have thought that this whole thing won't be done by Sony Ericsson. Before the recently announced Sony Ericsson F305, that has some disputable features, analysts have expected this model to be of the PlayStation brand, but this will probably never come. The grim relations of Sony and Sony Ericsson is visible from the fact that Sony considers passing the Walkman and Cyber-shot brands to the subsidiary company as a strategic mistake, as these they didn't turn out to be as successful as expected. Internal sources have already confirmed that Sony won't be giving the Playstation Brand to Sony Ericsson, instead they are working on the conversion of the PSP into a mobile phone. Analysts think that this conversion cannot be a complicated one, as PSP already has WLAN support.
