The first 4G phone

Hirdetés

The brick on the picture below is nothing else than Ericsson Berta. This is the first device with a normal design to demonstrate the results of the new network standard, LTE, which is sometimes referred to as 4G, but it's widely known as super-3G, or 3.9.

Berta won't be commercially available in its current form, but Ericsson is going to demonstrate the capabilities of LTE on it in Barcelona. The company says that the new technology might further increase the spreading of multimedia content on mobile devices, the development of online mobile games, and thanks to the high speed online connection (the current record on the LTE network is 300 Mbit/s) there will be a possibility of making video calls of a better quality. Ericsson has also announced LTE-based basis stations (RBS6000), which are 25% smaller than previous models and provide double the capacity at a 65% lower power consumption.
