The Japanese-Swedish manufacturer has launched its "S", Snapshot, series last year, which offers phones with basic photo features at a lower price than the Cyber-shot line. The recently announced S312 also falls into this category, as it only has a 2 megapixel camera with fixed focus, but it features the Photo fix image enhancing technology and it has blog access as well. The handset, just like the more expensive camera-phones, has a lit up photo function key, which means that the functions assigned to the numeric keys on the right side lit up only in photo mode and this way it's easy to change between image sequencing, the self-timer and the flash modes. The new mobile phone features a 2", 176 x 220 pixels large display, an RDS FM radio, EDGE support, 15 MB of internal memory, an M2 card slot and stereo Bluetooth as well. The manufacturer recommends the purchase of the recently announced 48.5 x 18 x 18.5 mm large VH300 Bluetooth headset, weighing 20 grams, which offers up to 10 hours of talk time. The 100 x 45 x 12.5 mm large Sony Ericsson S312 weighs 80 grams, offers up to 8 hours of talk time and it will become available in Q2 at a yet unknown price, just like the VH300 Bluetooth headset.
