Sony Ericsson is the „greenest”

Hirdetés

Electronic products practically overflow our life and many of them pollute the environment not only as trash, but they mean a serious burden for nature, already during their fabrication process. During the survey from Greenpeace, that includes the whole life-cycle, Sony Ericsson and Sony have been the only ones to reach at least a score of 5 out of 10, while previous leader Nokia has fallen back a lot. The Greenpeace survey, that will be a quarterly from now on, doesn't only analyze the fabrication process, but it takes the product's whole life-cycle into account, up to its recycling or professional destruction.

No matter that Philips, for example, performs well in terms of energy efficiency and the omitment of dangerous materials, they don't have a uniform concept regarding product recycling. The analysis of Greenpace mentions that products of Sony Ericsson and Apple many times perform better than the energy efficiency standards described by Energy Star. Products of Sony Ericsson completely lack PVC since January, and, according to the highest standards, contain no antimony, beryllium or phthalate. The aim of Greenpeace is to urge manufacturers to use less and less dangerous chemicals and better recycling solutions.
