ABI Research has asked 1402 cell phone users from seven countries about what do they consider the most important features of modern cell phones. 47 percent of those asked have said that a cell phone needs at least a 2 megapixel camera. 34 percent of the respondents think that Bluetooth and 32 percent say that a music player or an FM radio are also essential features. Although the results are not too surprising, Clint Whelock, vice president of ABI research, has told that expectations are very different by regions. For example a camera was considered as being important by twice as many people (proportionally) in Taiwan than in the United States and similarly Bluetooth has been important for Western Europe and Taiwan. These features are less important in Japan and South Korea. The analysis has also showed that there is very little demand for WiFi and mobile TV and another interesting result is that most repondents have never used their phones high-speed internet feature or games. The survey has been conducted in Q1 2008 via an online questionnaire in England, the United States, France, South Korea, Japan, Germany and Taiwan.
