Sharp and Opera join the Symbian Foundation

Hirdetés

Symbian Foundation, established in order to create a unified, open and free user interface, has been founded just after Nokia has announced that they are acquiring Symbian. Forty companies from the mobile market have previously joined the foundation, and now the list is extended and includes Opera, Sharp and Korean Telecom. The aim of the foundation is to develop a unified and open system instead of Series 60, UIQ and MOAP. The manufacturers and service providers gathering around Symbian, which is already powerful, might give a hard time to Google, as their open Android platform might remain in the background. Symbian Foundation has uncovered that the base of the new platform will be the most wide-spread Symbian solution and there will be lots of new elements too.
