S60-based Cyber-shot with a 12 MP camera

Hirdetés

Before the announcement of the first Nokia Series 60 phone some interesting news has appeared about one of Sony Ericsson's phones planned for 2009. The Cyber-shot camera phone, codenamed "Kokura" will probably be the first handset on the market to feature a 12 megapixel camera and on it's huge touchscreen we can see a Symbian OS 9.4 Nokia Series 60 Touch user interface instead of UIQ, the usual one for the manufacturer. The proper speed of the phone will br provided by the TI3430 chipset, which has been previously mentioned related to Nokia. Another important new feature might be that the manufacturer wants to use microSD cards instead of M2 and thus they would join other manufacturers, as currently Sony Ericsson is the only company to use a different kind of memory card. Unfortunately a standard microUSB and a 3.5 mm jack port have not yet been mentioned so it might happen that the manufacturer wants to stick to their own solutions. In the future there might be other Series 6 handsets launched by the Japanese-Swedish manufacturer. The first rumors, besides mentioning "Kokura", also tell about another model codenamed "Yurika", which is also based on S60, but that one will have a sliding QWERTY keyboard.
