Rumor: WM 6.1 announcement at CTIA 2008

In present years Microsoft had the habit of announcing new versions of their mobile operating system at 3GSM (that is MWC from this year). This February, however, they held only a poor press conference, where they practically didn't announce anything new, so the announcement in Spain is now gone. Some sources say that the giant of Redmond is going to catch up at CTIA, held between April 1-3.

We, however, are not that sure that the gossip is true, as many different Windows Mobile 6.1-based devices have been already announced by the manufacturers and there are unofficial ROM files circling on the net, containing the new operating system. So our personal opinion is, that due to the small number of new features, there will be no presentation/announcement this year, WM 6.1 will just simply arrive sometime. We shouldn't be expecting much of it, as it only has an updated Internet Explorer and some new features easing usage.
