Japanese NTT DoCoMo has announced today not less than 19 new handsets for the Japanese market. Amongst these newly announced phones there are eight that are from the more advanced 906i series, all of these have a WVGA (at least 832 x 480 pixels) display, HSDPA and GSM support, built-in GPS receiver, DCMX mobile payment solutions, English, Chinese and Japanese text recognition and advanced mobile television support. Besides these, the phones are capable of displaying websites with Flash 8 content, of up to 2 MB in size. The 706i series, which has eleven members, also has HSDPA and GSM devices, but these handsets have less advanced QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) and WQVGA (at least 240 x 400 pixels) displays, but they have a more graceful design than phones from the 906i series. Nine phones from the new series will be available from June, while others will be launched until September.
