Nokia Comes With Music DRM-free

Hirdetés

The Comes With Music service, providing year-long unlimited music downloads, is currently available in very few countries, and only on CWM edition Nokia XpressMusic and Nseries models, which are usually available only SIM-free, at a high price. The network operators usually don't really like to sell these more expensive phones as they would practically do against their own musical offers. The specialty of Nokia Comes With Music, currently available only with copy protection, is that after the one year period the downloaded songs can be kept for an unlimited time on a computer and a Nokia phone, and they can be copied to a different device, four times a year. Using copy-protection methods is an unpleasant thing for many users, as it makes very complicated to legally move the songs to another device and of course the publishers wouldn't like if the songs would spread without any limitation and even in high quality. The PlayNow Plus service from Sony Ericsson, offering DRM-free music, has shown that the publishers can still be convinced to offer the songs without copy protection, even though the major setback of the Japanese-Swedish manufacturer's solution is that after the contract expires only one hundred of the songs can be legally kept. Adam Mirabella, global leader of Nokia's digital music solutions department, has stated in Singapore that their company is already planning to introduce a DRM-free Comes With Music service, but nothing specific has been revealed about it. Nokia Comes With Music should become available in most parts of Europe this year, but no exact dates are known yet.
