Nokia 5800 and CWM are successful

Hirdetés

Nokia has quickly observed the possibilities in new-generation touchscreen solutions, launched by Apple iPhone, but the answer came rather late and finally landed in the mid-range, in the form of 5800 XpressMusic. The handset has been criticized by many review sites for its old-fashioned user interface, although the phone, called the "iPhone of the poor" by many market analysts, had a great success due to its price, and the increasing success of the Comes With Music unlimited music download service also had to do with that. Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, CEO of Nokia, has emphasized that they have sold 2.6 million copies of the handset in the last quarter and lately the monthly sales have bypassed one million. In the beginning the use of copy-protection solutions Comes with Music wasn't that popular, but it's in fact much more successful than expected. In Singapore the launch of Nokia 5800 and CwM has increased the amount of legal music downloads by 30 percent, and 20 percent of the downloads has been made through the mobile network. The company leader has also pointed out that Comes with Music is good not only for the customers, but it's a serious profit for network operators, publishers and artists, and of course Nokia has its share of profit too.
