MWC2009: Samsung Beat Disc details

Hirdetés

Samsung really wants to enter the segment of premium musical phones, and so they have launched two new models at the expo in Barcelona. Besides BeatDJ we should have a look at Beat Disc as well, as it might be interesting for those who prefer real keyboards as well, besides the great touch mania.

The phone codenamed M6710 has a 240 x 400 pixel resolution AMOLED display, which is touch-sensitive in the bottom part. On the back of the device there is a 3 megapixel camera, but videos can be recorded only in VGA resolution at 15 fps. One of the strangest qualities of Beat Disc is that for unknown reasons it has only Bluetooth 1.2, but at least it supports stereo sound transfer.

The musical part of the handset has again been done by Bang&Olufsen, the technology called IcePower proved to be a great one many times before. Beat Disc has an internal memory of 80 megbaytes, but it supports microSD cards of up to 16 GB in size. The phone has a gyroscope inside and it of course supports HSDPA networks at a maximum speed of 7.2 Mbit/s.

Another musical feature is the FM radio with RDS support and the 3.5 mm headset jack on the side of the phone, which allows the user to use practically any kind of headphone with the device.
