After today's press conference we had a chance to have some hands-on experience with Samsung's latest musical handset, BeatDJ, also known as M7600. The handset, using Bang & Olufsen IcePower technology, has its touchscreen user interface focused on musical features, but it's not that noticeable during everyday use. The TouchWiz interface still works as it used to, we have an astonishing amount of widgets and the menu is made up of elemnts similar to the F480.
The phone has a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus and geotagging support, based on our first experience the silver frame around the display is made of metal. The point of the DiscUI interface is that during music playback there is a virtual disc we can use to seek between tracks. The B&O IcePower technology can be further spiced up with the software feature called "SRS virtual surround sound", which should provide a 5.1 sound, according to the manufacturer. As we have already mentioned the phone has a 3.5 mm jack connector, and although we didn't see a headset for the phone we're pretty sure that it will match the phone's quality.
Also on the musical part we should mention stereo Bluetooth support, the FM radio with RDS support and the music recognition software. The name of BeatDJ comes from the fact that we can remix our music and apply effects on the tracks. Internal memory size is 50 MB, but it can be expanded with a microSDHC card. The battery capacity is 960 mAh and we can charge the phone through the microUSB connector.
