Apple has announced at this year's WWDC the already well-known iPhone 3G S handset, which features a 3 megapixel autofocus camera, a digital compass, a faster processor and double memory, but opposed to previous rumors it comes without HD playback support and no OLED display. This means we should be looking at the operating system for the new features, this becoming available for earlier models as well, on June 17.
With the launch of iPhone OS 3.0, App Store is being redesigned as well, as now iTunes contents (videos and music) will also be available directly from the phone, thus the online app store is being turned into a full-featured catalogue. Another interesting feature of Apple's store is that from now on we can buy new contents from inside applications and with the help of the warning system one can send remote warnings to currently not runnig applications if there are new contents or messages available. iPhone OS 3.0 Gold is currently available only for developers, but next week all owners of an iPhone or an iPod Touch can upgrade.
