HTC's second Android phone is available

Vodafone Spain has started sales of the second Android-based HTC handset. HTC Magic, lacking traditional keys, has the Android 1.5 operating system, which has a virtual keyboard as well, but otherwise it's quite similar to HTC Dream, also known as T-Mobile G1. The handset, available for even 19 euros with an 18-month contract, comes with an obligatory unlimited internet subscription for a monthly fee of 12 euros, the reason being the fact that HTC Magic automatically to the internet, without any kind of user interaction. It is not yet known whether data transfer can be blocked during a travel abroad, but hopefully the new Android system has patched the rather annoying bug regarding third-party applications, which could have accessed the internet even when data transfer was blocked, thus generating huge bills. The 117.7 x 55 x 13.7 mm large HTC Magic, weighing 118.5 grams, features a 3.2", 480 x 320 pixels large touchscreen display, a 528 MHz CPU, 192 MB RAM and 512 MB Flash memory, 7.2 megabit HSDPA support, stereo Bluetooth, GPS, WLAN, a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera and a 1,320 mAh battery providing 7.5 hours of talk time.
