Nokia has uncovered some details about its Maemo Linux 5 operating system, developed for their MIDs. The even was OSiM (Open Source in Mobile) in Berlin. The new platform will support high-speed HSPA (HSDPA and HSUPA) besides WLAN and besides Ti OMAP3 it will be compatible with ARM Cortex-A8 CPUs too. At the event a Maemo 5 Linux-based prototype has been uncovered and Nokia announced that they are from now on golden sponsors of Linux Foundation.
