Grown enthusiastic by the success of iPhone and App Store, most large manufacturers have launched their own app stores, which make shopping easier for users and provide a direct and simple access to customers for developers, meanwhile relieving them of the duties of running an online store, in turn for a percentage of sales. In the BlackBerry App World online store, launched by RIM, there are free applications as well, but those that cost have a pricing system based on tiers, the lowest price is strangely 2.99$. Although this price doesn't seem much, in the case of Apple iPhone the most successful applications have been those that cost 1-2 dollars, they have generated the highest traffic. RIM of course has a different view of its products that are targeted at business users and these customers will have no problem acquiring 3$ applications.
