The phone’s operating system is Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional again. Its hear is a 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 CPU and it also has 256 MB ROM and 192 MB RAM, we have nearly 80 MB free for running programs. The storage space can be expanded with a microSD card, the slot is under the cover, but we don’t have to turn the handset off in order to change the card.

In the table above you can see the results of the usual benchmark programs. VsBenchmark results are nothing special, they are barely better than the marks of Viva, which has a 200 MHz CPU. Pocket PC Mark, however, is much better, it is a better example of the hardware’s power, file system has a surprisingly high score. Otherwise the handset is very fast during everyday use, the new TouchFLO, known from Viva, is incredibly fast, we don’t have to wait a lot for programs to start up, scrolling is also fast, so I can say that it’s really okay. This might be the first Pocket PC to be almost as fast as a standard cell phone – it is much faster than Diamond, which is no wonder, since screen resolution is one-fourth of it.
I’d rather not discuss in detail all menu items of TouchFLO, as I have already mentioned them in the reviews of previous models. I would like to note it, however, that there is a new menu item, called Maps Search, which is practically a Google Maps shortcut. We have the usual set of software, besides the default Windows apps we have some other delicacies like Opera 9.5 web browser, Adobe Reader, an RSS reader, fast GPS positioning, ZIP and of course YouTube. Those small features that make the whole system more usable are also included, this means that the Start menu can be zoomed, the X button really closes running applications, the taskbar can be zoomed too, there is scrolling, so we practically have everything we would ever need.
Software related to phone calls don’t bring anything new. Outlook is used for the contact list and we can store names until there is some internal memory free – this practically means an unlimited number of entries. Messaging is also handled by this program, it does its job perfectly, it supports authenticated IMAP servers, attachments and of course multimedia messages too. TouchFLO has a speed dial screen, text messages can be displayed on another one and Outlook displays messages in a chat-like view.
