Introduction
Asus doesn't rest at all. If I’d want to be evil, I’d say that they’ve read my review of R600 and then put together a navi that looks good. But this is not true, we have already met this gadget at CeBIT, even though it was a secret meeting as it didn’t even exist officially back then. I have liked it at first sight; no matter it wasn’t really finished yet. Now we have managed to acquire one and I’ve tested it. You should know that it has two editions; the one we’re reviewing now is the one that has no TMC.
The navi, that we have received from Speedshop is on top of the navi range of Asus with its two editions, which only differ in a “T”, which is the final letter of the TMC model ‘s name. There is no difference between them in design.
Unfortunately Asus’s website still has some issues. Although they did something to the servers in the past weeks, so its speed is now acceptable (I would expect, however, a lightning fast site from a hardware manufacturer), but there is still no information about the navis. This is very lame, and furthermore, if we also consider that the map updates they have promised so many times are also missing, than the situation becomes even worse. I hereby send them a message that they should urgently do something about this, as customers buying a navi will surely visit the site for updates and I probably don’t even have to quote the eternal saying “one unsatisfied user persuades 10 other out” in order to confirm this.
