The CDMA network KDDI and Sharp have announced the W63SH URBANO phone, which is made for city dwellers. The clamshell with an elegant design, decorated with an analog clock on its external display, has a huge 3" internal display (according to Japanese customs), but its resolution is only 240 x 400 pixels. Another suprising fact might be that the camera's resolution is only 2 megapixels. Still, the 3D gravitation sensor is included, which, besides rendering the phone controllable with motion, has a step counter, thus helping those who would like to lose weight. Another important feature for Japanese users is the integration of the FeliCa mobile payment solution, which makes the phone a credit card replacement. The 106 x 50 x 16.8 mm large clamshell, weighing 121 grams, will be available only in Japan.
