Japanese cell phones still seem very exciting and advanced, although lately there are some phones in Europe too that have high-res cameras. After Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG it looks like Nokia's 8 megapixel phone will also be announced for Europe. Casio W63CA, designed for Japan, has some completely different solutions than its European companions. On one hand the handset is a clamshell and there is a promising 8 megapixel Omnivision image sensor in its lower part that completely looks like an Exilim camera. The iupper part has a display with a huge resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, as proper to Japanese tradition, and it can even be rotated, so there is a hugh-resolution viewfinder available when taking pictures. The phone, designed for KDDI, will be launched in Autumn and Europe can keep on dreaming about the presence of such a high-res display and camera at the same time on a phone.
