The recently announced i550 from Samsung cannot be criticized too much, as it has almost everything required from a top-handset these days. The Symbian Series 60 based smartphone supports 3G networks, has a 2.6” QVGA display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, Bluetooth 2.0 with stereo transfer, FM radio, expandable built-in memory (with microSD card) and built-in GPS for navigation fans. All in all, the i550 knows almost everything. The greatest deficiency was the WiFi, more precisely its absence. For example, during a travel abroad there’s no possibility for free VoIP calls near WiFi hotspots. This small defect seems to be corrected soon as the new version equipped with WiFi receiver is coming out as Samsung i550W starting from the Asian market and probably coming to Europe in mid-2008.
