Samsung's latest device lacking an open operating system has the special feature of having both a conventional keypad and a touchscreen above it. This year many manufacturers have recognized that a part of their customers finds touchscreens a bit strange if they are the single means of control, but they welcome it as a bonus option near a conventional keypad. The 2.3" large display with a resolution of 250 x 320 pixels is capable of displaying 262000 colors and can come in handy for recognizing Chinese characters and for browsing. The device having a 2 megapixel camera with fixed focus has only 5.8 MB of internal memory, but fortunately this can be expanded with a microSD card. This expandability is very handy, as otherwise stereo Bluetooth support would be quite meaningless. The device supporting 850/900/1800 GSM networks and EDGE transfer has an OpenWave browser and stereo FM radio, it's size is 113 x 50 x 14.5 mm, weighs 97 grams and will have a price of about $ 280. The Korean manufacturer is expected to announce a device with similar features for Europe too.
